Reaching Goals for Building Muscle

Everybody I know who works out has a lot of goals in mind when they first start out.  The most  common is how to get a six pack fast.  Depending on your definition of fast, it could be 3 months, it could be 6 months.  The only way to build muscle mass is with disciplined routine that will nto only get you the mass you want but also help to maintain it once you get it.  You see, getting it is only half of the battle.  Maintaining it should be where the concern lies.  That is what I read in a fitness book recently.  It makes sense to me.
