Good Boy
I recently came across a kind of dog training that I thought was effective and more humane then the primitive style of punishment. Dog clicker training focuses on positively reinforcing the dogs proper behaviors. The clicker is used to express to the dog that their actions are done correctly. This essentially means that if I wanted my dog to do a specific action that may require multiple steps, I could click each individual step to positively reinforce a correct action. If my dog made the wrong action on any particular step, I would not click. The lack of the clicking sound would tell my dog that she did not do the action that I wanted her to do.
