Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010In runners it is very much common that overuse injuries to the knee happens. There are up to a quarter of running injuries happen in the knee. There are mainly four reasons for this, the first one is due to poor foot biomechanics have been implicated in changing knee alignment; the second one is shoes that wear unevenly affect knee alignment; the third one is an imbalance in the knee can be a factor; and lastly the fourth one is poor training techniques (such as doing to much too soon) can also be a factor. Any rehabilitation program is going to have to address all four factors. Foot orthotics for knee pain; restore the muscle imbalance about the knee; good new shoes and better training techniques.
